Moses Finale (1957)
It is one of the most representative painters of the eighties. In 1981 he held his first solo exhibition at the National Museum of Fine Arts in Havana and a year later he founded with three other artists of his generation, the group “4 x 4” proposing different from those that were made in Cuba reflections; he graduated from the Higher Institute of Art in 1984. In 1988 visited Havana prominent critic of contemporary art and African art specialist Pierre Gaudibert, former director of the Museum of Contemporary Art in Paris, along with art critics also Hélène Lasalle, specialist Picasso Museum in Paris and the Italian Giovanni Joppolo who gave birth to the “Cuban Path” project, which formed an important part Finalé Moses, participating in a group show at the Contemporary Art Center of Corbeil-Essones in France and other exhibitions in Italy. In 1989 he was invited to Paris by Danielle Mitterrand and France Liberté foundation for a series of exhibitions in Nesle and Le Monde de l’Art galleries. Performed, in 1993, the solo exhibition “Problemes d’identité” at the Espace Bonban, UNESCO Headquarters, Paris, France. In the year 1999 it is included in the dictionary of painters, sculptors, designers and engravers, E. Benezzit, Gründ, volume 5. Editions Cercle d’Art, Paris, published in 2001 the book Moses Finale (monograph 1987-2000), with the text “Le rituel infini” Zoe Valdes. In the same year he was invited by Mr. Eusebio Leal and the Ministry of Culture of Cuba to make the expo “Wounded Shadow” in the prestigious Museo Nacional de Bellas Artes in Havana. In 2003 on the occasion of the celebration of Cuban culture, he was invited to exhibit at the Hall of Lost Steps, UNESCO, the personal exhibition “I live here.” In 2005 he exposes in the Hall of Lost Steps UN, with the artist Agustín Bejarano and pianist Jorge Luis Prats, exposure cataloged by the press and critics as one of the best made in that space. For more than 20 years has made the posters Rencontres Film Festival d’Amerique Latine, Toulouse, France. He has participated in prestigious contemporary art fairs like Art Chicago, ARCO, Art Miami, Palm Beach, Art Madrid, FIAC, Artbo, among others. Relevant art critics around the world have written about his work in different publications and media, such as; Gerardo Mosquera (Cuba), Orlando Hernandez (Cuba), Aldo Menendez (Cuba), Osvaldo Sanchez (Cuba), Federico Morais (Brazil), Pierre Gaudibert (France), Hélène Lasalle (France), Giovanni Joppolo (Italy), Armando Alvarez Bravo (USA), Cristine Frérot (France), Giulio V. Blanc (USA), Delia Blanco (Dominican Republic), Zoe Valdes (France), Gustavo Valdes (USA), Françoise Monnin (France), Yolanda Wood (Cuba) Rufo Caballero (Cuba), Reynaldo González (Cuba), Eduardo Jimenez (Cuba), Piter Ortega (Cuba) Isis Wirth (Costa Rica). His works are in the permanent Cuban painting hall of the National Museum of Fine Arts in Havana, as part of numerous public and private collections, foundations and museums in America and Europe. The artist lives and works in Paris, France, since 1989
